Q Why is your name spelled Esmerelda and not Esmeralda?
A Because I am English and not Spanish, as I believe the latter name is, but all in good sport, my mother purposely changed the spelling of my name because she knew I was so terribly unique something had to be done to reflect that.
Q Where have you acted?
A Like every other being, human or otherwise, everywhere and all the time.
Q Did you get another cat?
A Yes, and his name is Galahad. He came from the local animal shelter. I highly recommend pound cats, although mine seem to weigh several pounds.
Q If you could pick any actress in the world to play you, who would it be?
A Dame Judi Dench or Dame Helen Mirren. There’s something about a dame and nothing like one.
Q Have you ever tried going on a diet?
A Don’t be absurd. I have almost starved to death due to lack of grocery money; that is the ultimate diet.
Q Who is your favourite designer?
A The same one who dresses the Queen; can’t you tell?
Q Do you eat more than one dessert at every meal?
A Only until I have had an elegant sufficiency.
